Biography

The ventures of my youth fostered a visionary pursuit I utilize to create. Daily, I would wander outside with my cowdog and horse, surrounded by acres of idyllic scenery filled with creeks, trees, canyons, and wildlife deep in the red dirt country of western Oklahoma.
At an early age, my father instilled an appreciation for wildlife conservation and naturally informed art. I would carry chalk for drawing as we sat for hours in a cold blind and graffiti the walls with juvenile art. All while observing the earth and its creatures come to life. This exposure equipped me with the standards I use to produce. The impact of stillness fostered a critical component in my art practice that nurtured my patience for observing fleeting moments.
A creative career emerged from my journeys across the U.S., abroad, and beyond. Traveling reveals culture, allowing exploration of art that provides a sense of a region's way of life. Attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University allowed me more opportunities to travel the states as I studied graphic design. I obtained specialty scuba diver certifications permitting me to source material beyond the scope of my ordinary experience. After graduating with a Bachelor of Graphic Arts in 2013, I furthered my education by moving abroad to Florence, Italy, studying traditional fine art and techniques. In 2020, I acquired my Master of Fine Art degree from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
I have been fortunate to maintain work in small-town Oklahoma, utilizing my creative skills in various mediums. I operate as an in-house creative director for galleries and small businesses while participating in fine art exhibitions across Oklahoma and Texas.
I aspire to continue expanding my skillsets and knowledge base, evolving my creative potential as a professional artist. As I seek the advancement of my portfolio through galleries, exhibits, and commissions – An informed pursuit of artistic production facilitates success while encouraging critical thought about the world in which I live.
